Langtang

The word breathtaking just doesn’t do it for the Himalayas, and the views were nothing short of unparalleled beauty. Trek started from a small mountain village Syafrabesi (1550m) post a seven hour local bus drive from Kathmandu. Thereafter the trek went through Lama tea house (2450m), Langtang village (3430m), Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) and then finally to peak of Kyanjin Ri (4400m) where there was a spectacular view of Langtang Lirung (7234m), the tallest peak in the valley. Nepal is truly the roof of the world.

Below are views of Langtang Lirung (7234m) the tallest mountain in the Langtang valley area taken from the peak of Kyanjin Ri (4400m). The altitude at the peak is almost double that of Mount Fuji’s peak. To the right is Langtang Ri peak standing at 7205m.

Below are other views of Langtang Lirung along the trek. As we started from the south and made our way towards the valley in the north, we were able to see difference faces of the mountain. Though not the tallest mountain in Nepal, considered to be one of the steepest and therefore extremely difficult to climb.

Other spectacular views along the trek including the dynamic ridges of
Gangchenpo peak (6387m).

The anticipated reunion with Yaks.
